The Beginnings
The Missionary Department of the Church of the Nazarene in the Trinidad and Tobago District opened its first chapter in 1956. At that time, it was known as Nazarene Foreign Missionary Society (NFMS).

The first churches to have organized NFMS departments were St. James, Tunapuna and Five Rivers. Seven more churches joined in by the end of the year.
