January - Genesis Initiative
Did you know that there are more than 160 cities and islands of the Caribbean in the Mesoamerica Region with a population of more than 100,000 inhabitants? We have to work together to bring a "Genesis" to these people because the work is too big for a single person, a church or even for a district. However, we can make a difference if every Nazarene in the Mesoamerica Region allows Genesis to begin in their lives, create and promote missionary practices.

Genesis is a new way of thinking about the church in the 21st century. And do you know something? Genesis is not a new ideology or thought of the church because it is based on the example of Jesus in the Gospels. We see Him:
- Preaching the scriptures in creative ways so people could understand them.
- Helping people through food distribution, healing the sick and resurrecting the dead

Resources to support the Genesis Initiative on behalf of NMI:
Each January, NMI promotes the Genesis Special Offering whose goal is the equivalent of $1US per member in each local church. Resources are used for training, housing in some cases and extraordinary expenses. This is separate from the funds that each missionary collects during the two years of missionary service. NMI is a very important link in this ministry. We can all get involved in the giving, praying and going strategies.
